Today in class we listened to more presentations. Save the Cambodian Children and Compass Marketing. Both were really cool presentations because you could tell both groups worked hard and knew what they were talking about. I enjoyed the Cambodian the most because I like the idea of stopping sex trafficking over there

I called the number and told them I found their dog. They then told me to bring his cat it to their house. It was the most frustrating ride ever, the damn dog kept meowing, (that explained alot). When I arrived the door was slightly opened, I walked in and there were two dead bodies lying on the floor and the dog immediately went over to the bodies and took a massive dump right on the carpet next to them. I thought to myself this is a shitty situation so I went to a pay phone and called 911, went home and watched Dexter.

Since spring break has finished i feel like we have been pretty busy. Our group is preparing for everything we need to do individually. I am making the company flyers and trying to be as detailed as possible.
Today Mr. Heitman came to speak to our class about how he uses professional writing. He is a lawyer that researches laws and statues and writes a memo or a report stating his research.

Today Ms. Heitman came to speak to our class. Ms. Heitman brought us doughnuts today so she could be our favor Heitman speaker. She was a social worker, and she came to talk to us about letters of recommendation. What I learned most about from Ms. Heitman was to take these letters seriously because they can be the deciding factor for example whether or not you get into graduate school or not.

persuade

From the start of the semester until now, I have not missed a class unless it has baseball related. I have completed all of the work, and have turned in the majority of it on time. I have also noticed that my class mates have not missed many classes and arrive on time. As a class we work very diligently and stay the whole hour and fifteen minutes we have to be here.

Don't get me wrong this class is fun. I like all the things we are doing that will help prepare us for our lives in "the real world" such as, business plans and memos etc. This class is teaching us discipline, time management, and most importantly how to work well in groups.

I think a week day off would be fair to ask for because I feel as if we have been a good class. I know you could use a day off as well. You come to work everyday, doing the best you can to help us better ourselves. you work so hard grading our papers, setting up guest speakers, getting up early to come teach.

Doesn't a week day off sound nice.

Thanks, Ryan

She was from the folk arts department. She passed out Museum magazines which had mission statements and proposals on the inside cover.

Summer Catch

It was Clint’s first day of baseball practice with his new team the Astros. He was really nervous and did not know what to expect. Clint played t-ball and made his way through coach pitch making a lot of friends and really enjoying him self. But this was the big time; this was kid pitch, where runners can lead off and steal bases, pitchers can throw curveballs and worst of all hit batters.

When Clint arrived at the park he recognized some of his new teammates. Perry and Bradley who had played on his prior teams. Clint felt a little relieved when he saw his two friends standing at the park. When he got out of the car the three boys played catch and joked about who was going to hit their first homerun on the team and who was going to cry when they got pegged.

When the rest of the team got to the park including the coach, he had all of the boys introduce themselves to each other, Clint was really excited to be around a new group of ball players who got along. Next, the coach passed out the coolest thing the boys thought they could have received, their first fitted team hat. Clint told Bradley and Perry how he really felt he was in the big time now the boys were really excited for the rest of their practice.

After a couple weeks of playing the Astros were winning the majority of their games and in first place. Clint had never had as much fun playing ball as he had since starting kid pitch. The Astros were looking forward to playing in the Texas state tournament in Dallas and if they won they could advance to the CABA World Series in Oklahoma, where the top teams from around the nation play for the number one spot.

In the final game of the Texas state tournament. It was a tie game and Bradley was up to bat in the 7th inning with Clint on first base. The Astros were playing the Dallas Tigers and down to their final out and qualifying for the World Series was on the line. The Tigers pitcher threw a fastball on the outside corner and BOOM Bradley crushed it into right center. Clint ran as fast as he could around the bases and scored no problem. They did it; the Astros were going to the World Series in Oklahoma to compete against the best.

Clint and his team were so excited to travel out of state for a baseball tournament. They really thought they were big timers now. Staying in hotels like the big leaguers, man what could be better, the guys thought?  The Astros’ first game was against a team from Kansas and they dominated 5-0. Perry pitched a great game. Clint and Bradley each had a couple of hits and rbi’s.  Next the Astros played a team from Cincinnati who they also beat up on.  The Astros third game was against at team from Puerto Rico. They were a big team and had a pitcher who threw absolute gas.  During Clint’s first at bat the worst thing happened, he was hit by a pitch that hurt so bad, Clint walked down to first base and the Puerto Rican pitcher came over and shook his hand because of some sick tradition.  The Astros ended up winning 2-1 and moved on to the third place game against a powerhouse team the San Diego Sting.

The game was close the whole time. It was a battle to the finish. The score was tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 7th with a runner on second and two outs. The Sting hit a line drive to left field and Byron dove caught the ball then dropped it and the scored and won the game 2-1. The Astros were devastated as the Sting continued on to win the World Series.

Even though the year ended differently then the boys had planned they had one of the best summers of their lives. They got to travel and compete against the top competition in the nation and the best part about it was they got to do it all over next year.

Bad Memo Day

Today I wrote a horrible memo about Cleetus. Cleetus is a horrible co-worker who never turns his work in on time. He was becoming a distraction so I had to turn him in. Tune in next time to see what happens to CLEEEEETUS.

Battelle Speaker

Today a speaker from Battelle came to talk to us. I liked what she had to say. I was really interested in her case studies and I found out what IRB meant. IRB is a group that makes sure everyone is safe during a study.
Also I started working on Bang Box's New Flyer. It is looking a lot better than the first one.

2-12-09

Today we had a guest speaker. Christina Mattson, she taught me how to be a professional stalker(just kidding), by doing background checks. Every group is making proposals with us, mostly restaurants trying to get artists to perform at their grand openings. .

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Today we presented our business proposal. I handed out our flyers that still needed a little work. All of the other groups presented and we made business deals with the advertising, restaurants, and the non profit organization.

Thursday, February 5, 2009

Today Dr. Heitman came to talk to the class today scientific writing. I did not know you could write so much in science other than lab write ups. TOday we turned in our mission statements and memos. I also talked to our Jay about our flyer and I need to make it look more like a collage.

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

Today we got into our Bang Box group and our new CEO Jay already had our business proposal
finished. Im glad he took the lead because he seems like the right guy to do it. Also today i made our promotional flyer. It has some of our featured artists on there and I think it will catch peoples eyes. Im going to run it by the group.

Library

To be successful our studio needs to follow another studio to see how they became successful. How they started out, just to give us an idea of what we need to do. What is the most popular music in our area. Then we can expand our genre. These are just some of the things that will help our team become successful.

Ryan's Blog

My first impression I had about this class was, interesting. I like how we do not have to take any tests for the class. I think the group projects are going to be fun. I am really interested in group 2 because I really like music. I really do not have any questions or concerns just yet. I feel like this class is going to help me in areas later in life such as jobs. My only goal I have so far for this class is to get an A.
